On the 22nd of October the new Munch Museum opened in Norway. Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum would like to send our greetings and pay tribute to Munch by exhibiting two of his paintings from the collection, Parisian Nude (1896) and Mrs. Schwarz (1906), both borrowed from the National Museum.

Edvard Munch (1863–1944) is one of the most important modernist artists, particularly related to symbolism in the 1890s and expressionism from the beginning of 1900. He was active as an artist throughout his career and experimented continually with painting, graphics, drawing, sculpture, photography and film, which gave him an unique position in the history of art.
