Exhibition opening: Trans-Alpine - From the Polar To the Peak
Friday, 1. June 2018 - 19:00

We are very proud to host this presentation of student works form Tromsø Academy of Landscape and Territorial Studies.

«Trans-Alpine: From the Polar to the Peak» explores how the polar and the peak translate each other in two alpine geographies: the high latitudinal Norway and the high altitudinal Mount Gongga in Sichuan, Southwestern China. The course is in the spirit of a landscape explorer traveling across cultures: translating alpine ecologies, transforming scales and dimensions of representation, transcending tools of use in alpine excursions, and transplanting the research and design knowledge from the polar to the peak.

The Academy is a collaboration between the Oslo School of Architecture and Design and the Arctic University of Tromsø, and is curated by the teaching team Bin Li (China) and Hannes Zander (Switzerland) from the Oslo School of Architecture and Design. The exhibition presents works by the students Sanaz Akbari Koli (Iran), Oskar Hjellbakk (Norway), Aztrid Priscila Novillo Mosquera (Ecuador), Mia Thun (Norway), Michael Patrick Warshawski (Canada) and Jakob Wood (Canada).

Free entry and open to all!
