Together with Ice-9 and The Tromsø Performing Arts Festival (Vårscenefest) we invite you on a journey to the future. Don’t panic, it is just 50 years from now.

The portal opens at 16:30 at NNKM, where you will be equipped with costumes and props (designed by Valentin Manz), coffee and waffles. At 17:30 the ceremonial March to the Future will begin. We will walk proudly along the waterfront, carrying a symbolic 5m boat above our heads, and enter the future (Polaria) at 18:00. We promise it will be bright!

Ice-9 is a company based in Tromsø, founded by Christine Cynn and Valentin Manz in August 2014. They make participatory projects that ask people to think and respond to the most important social and environmental issues of our time (like climate change and armed conflict). Combining fiction, cutting-edge research and new technology Ice-9 aims to communicate complex matters such as climate change and pollution in an interactive way.
