2017 will be a year with several collaborative projects, focusing on the circumpolar and the challenges facing the Arctic.
We are going to create a new experience of the permanent collection at Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum. The permanent exhibition space on the first floor will be closed while we think, explore and redesign.
Today marks the opening of Troms county municipality quaterly assembly, and every politician must go past the «Artwork in focus» on their way to the assembly. We cooperate with the county municipaity in a number of ways, among others by presenting four different artworks a year on «our» wall. We’re very happy to present the film exhibition «View From Up Here», a program of recent art, experimental and documentary films from the Arctic. Films that seek to tell stories from the demystified inside of the circumpolar North, a place of adaptation, complex landscapes and diverse people meeting new challenges of global dimensions.
We're very pleased to have welcomed over fifty participants, big and small, to our Holliday workshop this weekend. We served coffe, juice and gingerbread, and the participants brought their enthusiasm and creativity.
The Norwegian Association for Arts and Crafts Northern Norway and Northern Norway Art Museum have collaborated to create the exhibition I Craft, I Travel Light, which will tour several art museums in Russia and Norway the next year. The exhibition opened October 16th at Archangelsk Art Museum.
